Clarksburg School

In the year 1862 there were over 100 residents in the rapidly growing village of Clarksburg. From an educational point of view it was still part of S.S. No.9, Thornbury, and the children of Clarksburg were attending the Thornbury school at Alfred and Elma Streets.

Among the most influential pioneer families of Clarksburg one must include the name of Hartman, and perhaps the most illustrious of many Hartman's over the years was Clayton W. who arrived in 1878
